​CANYON LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL 2025 DANCE APPLICATION WEBSITE

The Canyon Lake Middle School Dance Department Consists of 4 Classes with 5 teams. We have all levels from Introduction to Advanced Teams. If you decide to audition for the Dance Program you are auditioning for either Introduction to Dance, Beginning Dance, Intermediate Dance or Dance Team. You will be placed according to your score on the appropriate team.

Introduction & Beginning Dance

If you make the Introduction or Beginning Dance class you will be learning the basic skills of dance technique in a wide variety of styles. You will participate in a District Wide Dance Day, Perform in our Winter Recital and our Spring Showcase. Beginning Dance builds the foundation for our next level Intermediate Dance. We also attend an end of the Year Trip to Universal Studios!

Intermediate Dance - J.V.


​If you make the Intermediate Dance class you will be building on the skills you learned from Beginning Dance. You will participate in a District Wide Dance Day, Perform in our Winter Recital and our Spring Showcase. Intermediate Dance builds the foundation for our next level Advanced Dance. We also attend an end of the Year Trip to Universal Studios!

Advanced Dance - Dance Team

If you make the Advanced Dance class you will be building on the skills you learned from Intermediate Dance. You will participate in all of our Student of the Month Assemblies, a District Wide Dance Day, Perform in our Winter Recital and our Spring Showcase. Advanced Dance builds the foundation for our highest level our Competition Team. The Dance Team has additional practices before school every other Wednesday from 8:00 - 9:15 a.m. and additional practices throughout the year. We also attend an end of the Year Trip to Universal Studios!

CLDT - Competition Team

The CLMS Competition Team is the highest level of Dance that Canyon Lake has to offer. The CLMS Competition Team is Nationally ranked winning multiple regional, State and National titles. Students should only accept a spot on this team who are committed and will make the Competition Team a top priority in their life. Being on the Competition Team you will perform down Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland! You will compete at 2 Regional Competitions 1 State Competition and 1 Nationals. You will also perform at events in the community such as the TCHS Winter Recital, all of our Student of the Month Assemblies, a District Wide Dance Day, Perform in our Winter Recital and our Spring Showcase. We also attend an end of the Year Trip to Universal Studios! The Competition Team has additional practices before school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings on top of the Dance Teams practice schedule.
